2023 Cohorts - Exclusive offerings

Alameda County (California) Cohorts

 The B.L.A.C.K Course is facilitating our 45 Hour Lactation Course for Alameda County (California) residents and/or individuals providing services to Alameda County children, ages 0-5 and their families. We are teaching two (2) cohorts; March 1-7 and June 21-27. 


Both cohorts for Alameda County residents or supporters have been sponsored by First 5 Alameda County. 


*Please note: All attendees will be required to provide proof of address or working location.

5-Day Course

We will meet virtually over 5 days for each cohort. Each cohort will provide you with 45 lactation specific hours.  Class will not be held on Saturday and Sunday.

* Only register for one cohort; each cohort qualifies for 45 educational hours


Course Meeting Times

 

  • 8 AM - 5 PM PST
  • 9 AM - 6 PM MST
  • 10 AM - 7 PM CST 
  • 11 AM - 8 PM EST

Course Fee

This course is normally $750+processing fees. Through the generous support of First 5 Alameda County (California), registration costs have been covered.

  • We will not be able to accept cash paying non-Alameda county residents or supporters in these two (2) cohorts.

Course Content:

 The B.L.A.C.K. Course 45 Hours Lactation Course provides the student with a basic knowledge in:

  • Anatomy
  • Physiology
  • Biochemistry
  • Communication/Counseling
  • And More!

Course Outline are provided to registered students at the beginning of each cohort.

Please Note:

 

  • First 5 Alameda County is providing CEU's for qualified attendees
  • Registration will only be accepted for 1 cohort per person
  • Unfortunately, we cannot hold slots - a wait list will be created if registration fills before the official registration close date of each cohort
  • All registrants are required to provide an Alameda County address; residency or work location
  • While our educational hours may qualify towards certification of other programs, we cannot confirm which programs will accept our hours. Please contact the perspective program directly to inquire if you can use our educational hours.
  • Our hours do qualify towards IBCLE requirements.
  • All sales are non-refundable.
  • Students must attend all sessions and complete all course assignments by the designated due dates to receive 45 lactation education hours.
  • Class will NOT be held on Saturday and Sunday.
  • We suggest birth workers schedule back up support for births as you will be held to all course requirements including attendance policies and assignment deliverables.
  • Registered students will receive an email once registration closes that includes course requirements including information about homework, evaluations, final quiz, and participation.

45 Hours Certified Blactation Educator/Accomplice Training

 The B.L.A.C.K Course is facilitating our 45 Hour Lactation Course for aspiring Black lactation professionals and Non-Black Allies supporting Black Communities. The training will be taught virtually. 


Register today to obtain 45 lactation specific educational hours that qualify towards the IBLCE required 95 hours.

5-Day Course

We will meet virtually over 5 days for each cohort. Each cohort will provide you with 45 lactation specific hours.  Class will not be held on Saturday and Sunday.

The B.L.A.C.K. Course 24 hours Blactavist Peer counselor support training. Breastfeeding support.

24 Hours Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Training

 The B.L.A.C.K Course will be facilitating our 24 Hours Peer Counselor Support Training for aspiring Black lactation professionals and Non-Black Allies supporting Black Communities. The training will be taught virtually. Register today to learn how to support families in your community. 

3-Day Course

We will meet virtually over 3 days. The class will provide students with entry level lactation specific education that focuses on latch and position, counseling, facilitating support groups, and more. This class is targeted to those who want to enter the lactation support field in a peer capacity, want to add to their current PC certification/training, are currently or have breastfed/lactated and want to support families in their community, and those who want to expand their current knowledge about supporting families.

  • The Importance of The Peer Counselor
